Two New Ideas

http://www.favorideas.com/com_images/189/lg_189370_2.jpg

From here. Super cool website. I love the gazebo and the outdoors-ness of the 1st pic, and I love the setting of the second one - I would just love to a splash or two of color to the decorations.

Dawn of the Dead

So this video (also on Youtube - I just have no clue how to actually post videos in here) has taken over my life. All I want to do is watch it over and over again.

This is Dawn playing with the Photobooth program on her Mac late one night. Apparently she had just been taking pictures and playing around, and was randomly making a strange noise, and wanted to tape herself making the noise so she could hear what it sounded like, but had difficulty reproducing it once she began taking the video. So this happened.

And, as far as I'm concerned, it's pure gold. I think everybody should enjoy it. :)

Bonnaroo!

I've been a bit unenthusiastic about blogging lately, partially because I've actually been doing a lot of thesis work lately. I'm not going to write a long post right now, mostly because I have a good deal of reading for tomorrow's class, and because I actually still do have a lot of work to do for my thesis, which is due in 5 weeks. And I'm meeting with my thesis advisor tomorrow. Whoopie.

But the great news: I'm finally going to Bonnaroo! And the even better news: I'm going with my two best friends - on a road trip! This is a huge combination of a whole bunch of things that I've wanted to do since I was 16, all in one! This year's line-up isn't quite as good as it has been in past years, but I'm excited about seeing a bunch of the bands, and the comedians as well (which I never actually knew they had, but apparently they do).  I was thinking earlier, right about now, about the only things that I could imagine making this trip better would be to have Dispatch playinig there, and for it to be free. But seeing as I've already seen Dispatch's final reunion tour and payed the first payment for my ticket, I don't really see either of them happening. But still, would be totally happy with either!

Btw... I wrote this post about a week ago, and apparently just forgot to publish it. What a jerk-ass.

Totallylookslike.com is awesome

So I found this on Totally Looks Like, an extension of the all-time-classic Lolcats. It makes me extraordinarily amused, entertained and quite happy.

"Chris Brown Totally Looks Like a Douche."

Now, to completely understand the gold that is this picture, you have to know what their look-
alike pictures usually are. They are typically two things that actually appear to be very similar. For example, Inigo Montoya Totally Looks Like Captain Hook, or V Totally Looks Like Mel Gibson. See?

Chris Brown Totally Looks Like a Douche.

Perfection.

List your top 10 favorite movies.

Surprisingly... I've never actually tried to do this before. I couldn't even tell you my all time favorite movie. What's wrong with me? lol

Okay, so this was so hard coming up with 10 movies, that I'm not even going to try to order them by preference. So in no particular order, here are 10 of my favorite movies:

Ocean's 11
Serenity
Armageddon
Little Women
Fight Club
Superbad
Clerks (1 and 2)
Dogma
10 Things I Hate About You
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Goals, updated

What are your goals for the coming month?

By mid-April I would like to be almost done with my thesis. I want to have, if not a new job, a few lined up for interviews and the like. The graduation party invitations should be sent out, and the engagement party invitations should be almost ready to be sent out. I would also like to lost at least 4 lbs.

Really, that's it. I mean. It's not a long list, but it will definitely be difficult. I've gotten a substantial amount of thesis work done so far this week, but I still have SO MUCH left to do.

Guh.

I had Natalie take a nice picture of my tattoo finally, since the only one I have of the finished version was taken right after I had gotten it, and it was shiney from the ointment.

Isn't it perty? I love it so much.

Wedding Cakes!

I have four very perty wedding cakes that I found on TheKnot.

The first three are ones that I chose, and well, apparently I like polka dots and stripes. I didn't know that, but ... well... they're super cute.

The last one is Zach's pick. And it's not that I don't like it, it's just that... it's a bit weird. Perhaps if there was some color on it, I'd like it more. I've never been a fan of black and white. I love me some color! And polka dots and stripes... apparently.

Anyway, links to my four cakes: Blue and brown , green, orange and brown, black and white.

What does the future hold?

Where do you see yourself in five years?

This is a hard one

In five years I'll be 27. I know that I'm going to be married to Zach. I would like to have a kid by then, at least one. A girl, named Zoe. She'll have green eyes, freckles and dark brown hair. But I definitely haven't thought about that yet. I'm going to have a career, hopefully teaching high school English in a nice public school in Nassau County or Queens. We'll have a house, or a nice big garden apartment condo-thing somewhere in Queens.  We'll have a second dog, a mut that is hopefully part bulldog or pug. There will be a cute yard, with a swing-set and a garden with tomato and basil and dill and cucumbers. In the fall there will be pumpkins. In the summers we'll have one of those inflatable pools and there will be a barbeque. Each room in our home will be painted a different color, and each one will be charming. Our house is never quite clean, but it is definitely charming, with carefully chosen furniture and art that suits our style and budget.

This is really scary to think about.

It really does come down to money....

So I just watched four episodes of House Hunters on HGTV, and good lord, I want a house. The strange thing is, yes, I want a house, but I want to look for a house, and shop for a house so much more than I actually want the house. I've dreamt about decorating my own house for years now. Maybe I should have become an interior decorator. lol

Zach told me not to think about it because it would just make me sad because we don't have the money to buy a house (or even move out of our studio apartment), but I still can't help myself. I want a house. I want a home. I want hardwood floors and high ceilings and a patio and a pantry and a walk-in closet and walls that I've painted and carpets that I've selected and couches and artwork and a fireplace and an island in the kitchen and a computer room and a master bedroom.

And the really sad thing is, I don't even know when we'll be able to get any of this. I need a job. I need a career. And that means that I need another degree. I hope I love teaching. I hope I'm good at it. No - I hope I'm great at it. I think I can be.

How is it that I get all deep after watching a home and gardens tv show? Seriously. What's wrong with me? Damn you HGTV.
